Jerry L. Terrill grew up on a farm in Kansas. He graduated from Calvary Bible College, holds a Master of Arts in Religious Education, a Master of Divinity degree in Institutional/Chaplaincy from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Sacred Ministry from Howard University in Pastoral Counseling.
He has worked as a crisis counselor for Johnson County Kansas, and a probation officer for Wyandotte County, Kansas. He was a Disciples of Christ Church (Christian) pastor in Paloa, Kansas. He currently is a visiting minister in the Unity of the (Texas) Brethren. Dr. Terrill has completed three years of training with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. He has also completed a two-year post-doctoral residency at the Texas Research Institute for Mental Sciences in Marriage and Family, Gerontology, and Individual counseling.
Dr. Terrill has taught as an adjunct for the University of Phoenix in World Religions and has also taught Bible classes for Le Tourneau University (Houston) as an adjunct. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor. He has over twenty-five years of experience in counseling in Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, and Brethren churches. Dr. Terrill belongs to the Texas Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association, the American Association for Christian Counselors, and the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy.
He has been married to Louise Bednar for thirty-six years. Louise is a faculty member of the University of Texas (Houston) Medical School. They have two children, John and Anne, who are each pursuing a PhD in California and New Jersey, respectively.
He enjoys international restaurants, cooking, walking, and reading historical fiction, nonfiction, and mysteries while listening to classical or new age music.
