Walking Boldly Toward Revolutionary Future

Over the past 18 months, God has been doing some very exciting things in and through Sioux Falls Seminary!  He’s raised up new partnerships, expanded financial resources, and led the seminary community through a process of renewal.  Praise be to God!

With gratitude, we’ve spent the past year sharing how God has provided us with immeasurably more than all we asked or imagined.  Time and time again, God has opened doors of opportunity for us!  With the theme of Immeasurably More and the verses Ephesians 3:20-21, Luke 17:21, 1 Corinthians 9:23, and 1 Peter 4:10 as our foundation, we have:’

• Reflected on our desire to develop people for their unique callings and how the needs of today’s students prompted us to rethink how we offer theological education;
• Talked about partnership within the Kingdom of God and how it can impact the work of a seminary;
• Shared how students are gaining a clearer understanding of God’s kingdom and how it is at work in the midst of their lives and ministry contexts;
• Talked about the joy that comes through participating in God’s work;
• Paused, most importantly, to reflect on how we can use our God-given resources to serve others.

With the start of the 2015-2016 academic year on the horizon, we continue to follow God and participate in the work God is doing in, through, and around us.  In the coming year, we’ll build on our foundation of Immeasurably More by sharing some of the ways that we seek to participate in God’s kingdom work by exploring:

• The Great Commission and the history of theological education;
• The changing landscape of theological education;
• Who we are as a seminary community;
• How we are called to action.

Through new leadership and renewed energy, the future of Sioux Falls Seminary is bright!  In excitement and with great anticipation, we come together as a seminary community to work for and venture toward the future.  I personally invite you to join us as we walk boldly toward the revolutionary future to which God has called us!
