Today, we are continuing to review the details regarding the release of Kairos 10.0. Our focus this week is on the programs that have the fewest updates. Let’s jump in.

MACO and DPC
The Master of Arts in Counseling (MACO) and the Doctor of Professional Counseling (DPC) will not have updates or changes to the curriculum. Over the course of the academic year, we hope to release versions of each program that will be in Spanish!

ThD and PhD
The 2023-2024 academic year will be the first full year in which we offer residencies for both the Doctor of Theology (ThD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). In addition, we are working with several partners who are building pathways for these programs. The curricular structure of the programs is not changing but, some of the course titles are receiving updates in order to help students and mentor teams better understand the connection between the program’s courses and outcomes. The courses did not change, just the titles.

MAL
Our Master of Arts in Leadership (MAL) has been redeveloped and re-released for the 2023-2024 academic year. It is a pilot program and cohorts of students are admitted by invitation only. The structure of the program mirrors that of the Master of Arts and Master of Divinity in that students work with mentor teams to progress through the various outcome-level courses in the degree. Progress is marked by master assessments. We are working with a few partners who may leverage the MAL, as well.

Another goal is to update the processes that faculty use to submit master assessments. More details will be shared with faculty as they become available.

MAMFT
Our updates in the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT) are tied to three course changes. The changes are related to the fact that states are updating their licensure requirements due to the rise of teletherapy and the need to address various topics in new ways. The general requirements of the program are not changing.

Next week, we will look at the Master of Arts and Master of Divinity programs, which are the programs with the most updates.
