Doctor of Philosophy student; Master of Divinity, Kairos University
Lehighton, PA
Pastor and Pastoral Coaching
We asked Michael a few questions to learn more about his journey at Kairos. Here is what we discovered.
What led you to Kairos University?
I was led to Kairos when Evangelical Seminary became a Kairos legacy partner. I was halfway through my Master of Divinity when I made the move to Kairos, and I instantly fell in love with the Kairos way. I greatly appreciated the affordable tuition and incorporation of past experiences into my education. However, my mentor team had by far the biggest impact on me. I can’t overstate how blessed I was to have a team around me who knew me and thoughtfully curated the educational experiences and classes that taught me exactly what I needed to learn. After experiencing a mentor team, I believe every pastor should have one throughout their entire ministry!
What moments or experiences at Kairos have been most meaningful in your journey?
My mentor team was a game changer for me. My time working with my mentor team has inspired me to walk alongside other pastors, which has changed the way that we do ministry in our local church. Our discipleship pathway is now based around walking with each individual person, to know them and curate their growth, just as Kairos has done for me. I’d love to have a Kairos mentor team for the rest of my life if it was possible!
How has your love for Jesus grown during your time at Kairos?
I was, and still am, incredibly determined to make an impact for the Kingdom. That often led me to frustrations in ministry and poorly showcasing God’s love in tough situations. My mentor team helped me grow as a person, to grow in Christ, and to learn a new perspective during ministry challenges. I learned how to better love people, to sit in the presence of God, and to be able to move at His pace.
What advice do you have for someone considering attending Kairos University?
I tell everyone I know about Kairos because of how huge of a blessing it was, and is, in my life. From every interaction with the faculty and leadership of Kairos, I can confidently say that their focus is on the Kingdom at all costs and I absolutely love their heart!
How can the Kairos Community continue to support and pray for you in your current role?
Please pray I would stay passionate and continue to seek God’s voice through all the new work He is doing.
