He [God] has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecc. 3:11)

Sarah began teaching at Evangelical Seminary in 2013. Sarah grew up wanting to be an archaeologist like her father, David Dorsey, who served nearly forty years as the previous Old Testament professor at Evangelical. Sarah met her husband, Phil, while both were studying abroad in Israel, and has returned to Israel many times for tours and excavation work. Sarah recently completed her doctoral work at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, and her dissertation is entitled “Women’s Hair Rituals in the Hebrew Bible.” Sarah (along with her husband Phil) also curates the David A. Dorsey Museum of Biblical Archaeology at Evangelical Seminary. Sarah’s research interests include Old Testament law and its application for Christians, ritual studies, and ancient languages.

Sarah and Phil are the parents of David, who at three years old is a great lover of tractors and plans to be a farmer on his grandfather’s dairy farm! Sarah is a great lover of coffee, novels, and gardening, and she is an occasional and slow runner.
