Spotlight: Partnership with Ethos

October 23, 2017

Sioux Falls Seminary believes theological education works best when it integrates with and utilizes learning and formational experiences from kingdom-minded partners.  We work diligently to find these partners and are excited to highlight our relationship with the North American Baptist Conference and Forge Canada through Ethos.

Ethos helps churches become missional in their leadership, structure, and disciple processes so they can produce local missionaries, see neighbor and neighborhood transformation, and move toward multiplication at personal, group, and congregational levels.  Mission and formation are intertwined into the program, helping participants seize opportunities to join where God is at work in the midst of today’s rapidly shifting culture.

With its focus on teaching, coaching, and equipping churches to join God on mission, Ethos aligns well with Sioux Falls Seminary’s approach to developing individuals for their participation in the kingdom mission while they walk alongside a mentor team and serve in the contexts where God has placed them.

Through Sioux Falls Seminary’s innovative Kairos philosophy of theological education, participants in Ethos can integrate their experiences into certificate, master’s, or doctoral-level study at the seminary.  Each option provides students with an opportunity to concentrate their studies in missional leadership by enabling them to work their mentor team to customize the entire educational journey.  This structure allows students to pursue their degree or certificate while remaining fully engaged in their contexts, invested in their day-to-day lives, and committed to a life of missional engagement.
