She has been a resident faculty member with Houston Graduate School of Theology since 2008 but was on the adjunct faculty team with the Doctor of Ministry Program for three years prior to joining the full-time faculty. She graduated from Barclay College, earned a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from Houston Graduate School of Theology. She teaches the foundational spirituality course on the master’s level—Christian Spirituality—and a variety of Christian spirituality courses within the master’s and doctoral programs. She is a member of the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality. Dr. Towne enjoys reading historical fiction, leading worship through music, and writing curriculum and devotionals.
